Mike Raleigh, director
Michael Raleigh is a conductor, baritone, and educator who believes that music serves a crucial role in the well-being and development of community. Recent conducting highlights include period instrument performances Handel’s Messiah with an audience sing-along, Bach’s cantata no. 82 Ich habe genung, and Heinrich Schütz’s Die Sieben Worte Jesu am Kreuz with a viol consort. Michael serves as Director of Music at St. Augustine by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Santa Monica, CA and was previously Associate Choirmaster at the Parish of All Saints in Boston, MA where he worked closely with Andrew Sheranian. As a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California, Michael studied Choral Music, Musicology, Instrumental Conducting, and Vocology. He is a graduate of Harvard University, where he studied Music and Germanic Languages and Literatures.
