Soprano Addy Sterrett enjoys exploring a wide variety of music spanning across time and genres as both a concert soloist and chorister. Recent highlights include singing background vocals during Björk’s Cornucopia tour, LA Master Chorale’s staged production of Schütz’s Musikalische Exequien directed by Peter Sellars performed at the Salzburg Festival, and Mahler Symphony no. 4 with the Grand Rapids Symphony.

Addy sings frequently with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and has been a featured soloist for Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Requiem, and the premiere of Matthew Brown’s Voyager. She has performed with a number of professional choral ensembles including Seraphic Fire, Bach Collegium San Diego, True Concord, and Evergreen Ensemble. She collaborates frequently with ensembles such as Tesserae Baroque and Three Notch’d Road and co-founded the collective Peasant Fylthe; a consort of voices and instruments exploring lesser known and less-than-sacred ancient music.

Addy was voted Audience Favorite in the 2025 inaugural American National Oratorio Competition, was a Virginia Best Adams Masterclass participant at the Carmel Bach Festival in 2024, and the 2022 winner of the Linn Maxwell Keller Distinguished Bach Musician Award. Addy’s voice can be heard on several feature films including Twisters, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Tiger’s Apprentice. Her discography also includes Seraphic Fire’s The Apple Tree, Yale Schola Cantorum’s Schütz: The Christmas Story, and a track with her band Sugar Cave on A New Age for a New Age: Vol. 4. In addition, Addy enjoys performing new music and has premiered the works of many living composers including John Harbison, Reena Esmail, William Cooper, and Balint Karosi. 

Addy is a graduate of Yale University’s Institute of Sacred Music where she studied Early Music Voice Performance. Addy also writes her own music and self accompanies on guitar and mountain dulcimer. When not making music, she enjoys hiking, camping, brewing tea, and practicing yoga.
